Description
A round serving board with dividers set around a central circle. The middle is meant for a small bowl of sauce or for the one thing that gets shared, and the fields around it for whatever goes with it. At 295 millimetres across it serves two to four people.
It is made from a beech panel 19 millimetres thick, glued up from several staves. Gluing is not a saving but a condition — at this width it is the only way the board stays flat after years of use. The edges are rounded and the dividers are cut to full depth, so crumbs are easy to gather.
The central field is what sets this board apart from the other round ones: a bowl of sauce or olive oil sits in the middle and everyone at the table reaches it from their own side. That arrangement is used in hospitality for meze and for starters that are shared.
Lukewarm water and a sponge, no wire wool; wipe dry immediately after washing.
