Description
A wooden cooking spoon 350 millimetres long. The longer handle keeps the hand away from hot cookware, which makes this length right for deeper pans and for anything that spits.
The bowl is hollowed, so it lifts liquid as well as stirring — a difference that matters when a sauce has to be tasted or a stock skimmed.
Beech. Wood does not conduct heat, so the handle stays cool, and it does not scratch a non-stick or enamelled surface.
Do not leave a wooden spoon standing in the pot. Resting it against the rim is what cracks the handle over time, because one end stays wet and the other dries.
