Description
A serving board with a wavy outline, 450 × 250 millimetres. The edge is not straight but curves softly, so the board looks like a piece of panel taken as it came. That shape sits well on a table with stone or concrete tableware and is often chosen by restaurants that care how a dish is presented.
The panel is beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, 19 millimetres thick. The outline is cut after gluing, so the wave runs across all the staves. The surface is sanded smooth and left in its natural colour.
If the board is used for servings with strong colours — beetroot, blackberries, curry — it is best washed at once, because unoiled wood takes up colour faster than oiled. An oiled surface slows that considerably.
Wash by hand and wipe dry; oil regularly.
