Description
A long serving board 600 × 250 millimetres with a channel around the rim, set on low feet. The channel takes the juices, the feet lift the panel off the table. The format is large enough to carry a roast with its side dish, and narrow enough to fit a laid table.
The panel is beech, glued up from several staves, 19 millimetres thick. At 60 centimetres long gluing is the only thing that keeps the panel straight; a solid piece would twist at the first change of humidity.
The combination of channel and feet means the juice stays in the channel rather than running under the board across the table. That is why this model is chosen for roasts rather than a plain flat panel.
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry at room temperature, not beside a radiator.
