Description
Mortar S measures 80 millimetres across and 120 tall, and comes with its pestle. The middle size, which covers most of what a kitchen grinds by hand.
A wider bowl than size M, so a mix can be worked — pepper with coriander, salt with herbs — without the ingredients riding up the sides.
Beech, turned from solid wood. Beech is dense enough not to absorb oils from the spices, which is what keeps one grinding from tasting of the last.
The pestle and bowl are turned as a pair, so the curves match. A pestle that does not follow the bowl leaves whole seeds in the bottom.
