Description
A board of 480 × 360 millimetres and 30 millimetres thick, cut to the outline of Montenegro. The largest of the map boards, and the heaviest.
The thickness is what makes it: at 30 millimetres the board does not read as a flat cut-out but as a solid piece of wood with a shape. The edges are rounded where the coastline turns.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. A panel 36 centimetres wide has to be glued — a single piece would cup and split, especially at this thickness, where the wood on the two faces dries at different rates.
Like the other map boards, this one is bought as a gift and used for serving. We can laser-engrave a name, a date or a dedication on it; the price depends on the size of the engraving and is agreed case by case.
