Description
A buklija 230 millimetres across and 90 thick, with a woven strap for carrying over the shoulder. The buklija is a ceremonial vessel — it is carried when a bride is asked for and when guests are invited to a wedding, and brandy is drunk from it in turn around the circle.
The body is round and flattened, with a neck and a stopper at the top, so it is carried full without spilling. The strap leaves both hands free.
Wood, turned and assembled in the traditional form. The shape has not changed, because its use has not changed: it is handed from person to person and has to be gripped easily and sealed reliably.
A buklija is kept in a family and brought out for occasions, so it is often marked. We can laser-engrave a name, a date or a dedication; the price depends on the size of the engraving and is agreed per order.
