Description
A wooden cooking spoon 300 millimetres long — the middle length, which covers most of what a kitchen does: stirring in a pan, making a sauce, frying.
At 30 centimetres the spoon reaches the bottom of a normal pot without the handle getting in the way on the worktop. This is the one that stays in the jar by the stove.
Beech, with a hollowed bowl. The wood stays cool, takes no smell and does not mark a coated pan.
A wooden spoon is wiped and dried, not left to soak. Soaking raises the grain, and a rough spoon starts to catch in the pot.
This is the spoon that gets replaced most often, simply because it is the one in constant use. Oiling it occasionally with a food-safe oil keeps the surface closed and doubles its working life.
