Description
A wooden shredder with two blades, 350 × 120 millimetres. Two blades mean twice the work in one pass — each stroke cuts two strips, so a larger quantity of cabbage is shredded in half the time.
It is chosen for pickling in quantity, where a barrel has to be filled in one session rather than over several days.
Beech, 19 millimetres thick. With two blades the frame takes more force, so the thickness of the panel is what keeps the cut true.
The two-blade version is harder to push than the single, so it suits standing work on a table where the whole body can be put behind the stroke.
