Description
A rectangular serving board with several smaller rectangular fields along one edge and a raised rim. The small fields hold sides, sauces or seasonings, and the wide field below them carries the main part of the serving. At 345 × 245 millimetres it matches a single portion in hospitality.
It is made from a beech panel glued up from several staves. The raised rim holds juices, and the rounded edges sit well in the hand and make it easier to carry. Beech does not take on smells, so the same board moves from savoury to sweet without trouble.
That format is close to the size of a plate, so the board sits in front of a guest as a replacement for one. For that reason it is ordered in larger numbers, to match the number of covers in the room.
Wash by hand and dry upright between uses.
