Description
A serving board 350 × 205 millimetres with an extended upper part and a round opening for hanging. The upper part is not only a handle — it is wide enough to rest a blade on or to stand the board upright. The alternation of light and dark bands across the surface gives it a recognisable look.
Those bands are the staves the panel is made of. Gluing from several staves is necessary at this width, because a solid piece would warp; along the way it gives a pattern that cannot be had from a single piece of wood.
The extended upper part is solid enough to rest a knife on while working, so the blade does not lie on the working surface. A small thing that proves useful every day in the kitchen.
Wash by hand and wipe dry at once.
