Description
An elongated serving board 600 × 200 millimetres, with pointed ends and a shallow trough down the middle. The shape recalls a boat: the edges rise slightly, so what is served stays in place even while the board is carried. Sixty centimetres of length is enough for a whole cheese board or cold cuts for several people.
It is made of beech, a glued panel 19 millimetres thick. The trough is hollowed into the panel itself, with no joints or corners where moisture could sit. The alternating lighter and darker bands across the surface are the staves the panel is made of.
The pointed ends are the thinnest part of the panel, so cutting is not done there — the knife is worked down the middle, where the wood is full. The shape is for serving rather than preparation.
Wash by hand, wipe dry at once.
