Description
An oval serving board 250 × 150 millimetres, with a slightly dished centre. It is small and light, so it is used where a plate does not fit — for one cheese, for a starter with drinks, for a serving handed to a guest.
The panel is beech, glued up from several staves, 19 millimetres thick. The dish is shallow with a soft run-out to the edge, so it empties and wipes out easily. Beech does not take on smells, so after washing no trace of the previous dish is left.
The small oval form also works as a base under a candle or a small pot, so it is used outside the kitchen as well. In that case wipe it occasionally and oil it like any other wooden piece.
Wash by hand in lukewarm water and wipe dry at once.
