Description
A round serving board with a toothed rim, 290 millimetres across, and a shallow oval recess in the middle. The teeth around the edge are cut into the wood and give it the look of a wheel or a saw blade — this is a piece people remember, so it is chosen when something other than a plain round board is wanted.
It is made from a beech panel glued up from several staves, 19 millimetres thick. The darker and lighter bands across the surface are the staves themselves. The recess in the middle holds juices and separates the main bite from the rest.
The diameter is close to that of a standard pizza, so the board is used for one as well — but the teeth around the rim are not meant to be cut across with a wheel.
Wash straight after use and run a brush along the rim; the teeth collect crumbs.
