Description
A serving board in the shape of a flower, 330 millimetres across, with a central circle and petals hollowed out as separate fields. Each petal carries one snack and the middle a bowl of sauce. The shape draws the eye on the table, so it is used for guests, for patron saint days and for birthdays.
It is made from a beech panel glued up from several lengthwise staves. At 33 centimetres across a solid piece is not used — gluing gives a surface that stays flat and does not split. The petals are hollowed to the full depth of the panel with rounded bottoms.
The petals are the thinnest part of the panel, so the board is not used for cutting — the shape is meant for serving. For cutting, the plain rectangular boards in the same range are better.
Wash by hand, do not soak; wipe dry at once.
