Description
The Dona board, 380 × 280 millimetres, with a channel around the rim and a cut extension of the channel on one side. That cut leads the juices to one place, so when a roast is carved everything gathers in the corner instead of spreading across the board.
The format is close to a classic kitchen board — big enough for daily work, compact enough to fit the worktop and a cupboard.
The panel is beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, 19 millimetres thick. Beech is hard and dense, so a knife mark stays shallow and the board does not absorb. Wash by hand and wipe dry at once, without a dishwasher.
The cut at the end of the channel only works if the board lies level — if the worktop slopes the other way, the juice runs to the opposite corner. It is worth checking the slope before carving a roast.
