Description
A board 495 × 150 millimetres with three bowls 130 × 130 millimetres. Three dishes in a row mean three sauces or three kinds of snack on one piece — an arrangement used in hospitality for tastings and for service with drinks.
The bowls sit in hollowed seats, so they do not slide while the board is carried, and lift out for washing. Between them the wood carries the structure and gives a place to hold.
The board is beech and glued up from several lengthwise staves; at nearly half a metre that is the only way it stays straight. The bowls are beech too, 30 millimetres deep with rounded bottoms.
Three bowls also mean three flavours on the same table, so this set is often used for tasting home-made preserves, with the board between them left for bread.
