Description
A wooden tray 430 × 240 millimetres, 30 millimetres high, with wavy edges and cut-out grips. Three centimetres of depth and a raised rim mean it also carries dishes with liquid in them, without fear of sliding.
The grips are cut into the panel itself, so nothing projects and the tray is easy to put away. The wavy edge breaks the strict rectangle and gives it the look of a piece kept in sight.
The panel is beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. At this width a solid piece would warp, and a tray has to be flat for dishes to stand steady on it.
With three centimetres of depth it takes dishes with liquid, not only dry servings. That is why it is also used as a breakfast-in-bed tray, where a cup must not tip.
