Description
A wooden three-legged stool — a low seat with a 30-millimetre-thick top. It is supplied with a round top 280 millimetres across or an oval one of 320 × 200.
Three legs stand level on an uneven floor without rocking, which is why this is the form used in cellars, workshops and outdoors. A four-legged stool needs a flat floor.
Wood throughout, with the legs set into the seat at an angle. The 30-millimetre top is what takes the weight without flexing over the years.
Stools like this are used for milking, for sitting by a fire and as a step. They are low on purpose — the work is at the floor, not at a table.
