Description
The Tara board, 580 × 140 millimetres — the narrowest of the long boards, with a hand slot at the end. The narrow form is deliberate: the board fits along the centre of a table or on a narrow worktop, and 58 centimetres still takes a whole loaf or cold cuts in a single row.
The slot serves as a handle and as a place to hang it. Because of the small width the board is light and easy to take in one hand.
The panel is beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, 19 millimetres thick. Beech is dense and does not take on smells, so after washing no trace of the previous dish is left.
At 14 centimetres wide the board fits a narrow worktop beside the sink, where wider ones cannot. That is why it is chosen by small kitchens and by office kitchenettes.
