Description
The Stela board, 400 × 340 millimetres, with a channel cut inside the rim. The widest of the named boards — almost square, so it takes larger pieces and a whole working layout without being moved.
The rim channel catches juices, so the worktop stays dry when meat or juicy fruit is cut. The edges are finished and slightly rounded.
The panel is beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, 19 millimetres thick. At 34 centimetres wide a solid piece is not possible — it would warp and split, because wood moves across the grain. Gluing gives a surface that stays flat after years of use.
A width of 34 centimetres means the board spans a sink, so you can cut and drain over the bowl. That is why kitchens without a large worktop choose a panel this wide.
