Description
A board in the shape of a star, 350 × 350 millimetres. Five points give it a recognisable outline on the table, and the central recess takes the main part of the serving — cheese, cakes or small snacks.
The format is larger than it looks at first: the span between opposite points is 35 centimetres, so the board carries a serving for several people. The panel is 19 millimetres thick.
It is made of beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. The points are cut after gluing, so the stave joints run unbroken and the board stays solid even at the thin parts.
The points of the star are the thinnest part of the panel, so the board should not be used as a base for pounding meat. For cutting and serving it is perfectly solid.
