Description
A serving board 360 × 153 millimetres with a drawn-out handle and a hanging hole. A middle format that covers most situations — long enough for bread cut into slices, narrow enough to carry in one hand.
The panel is beech, glued up from several staves, 19 millimetres thick. The run from the working surface into the handle is rounded, so the board sits well in the palm. Beech does not blunt a blade and a cut mark on it stays shallow.
If it is used for both meat and bread, it helps to mark one face and keep to it. Wood does not carry smells easily, but fat from meat soaks in deeper than crumbs do.
Wash by hand, wipe dry at once; oil from time to time with a wood oil.
