Description
Thirty centimetres across — a sharing board. At this diameter a cheese selection with accompaniments fits, or a whole cake, or a pizza straight from the oven.
The board is flat throughout, with no channel and no divider, so the whole surface is usable and the board is quick to clean.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. At 30 centimetres a solid panel is not an option — it would warp and split, because wood moves across the grain. Gluing holds the surface flat.
Thirty centimetres is also the standard pizza diameter, which is why this size is used both as a serving board and as a base the pizza is cut on at the table.
