Description
A rotating board of 350 × 350 millimetres with three bowls set into it, each 130 × 130 and 30 millimetres deep. The board turns, so each bowl comes round to the guest rather than being reached across.
The three bowls lift out for filling and washing. Between them the board surface is free, so bread and crackers go on the wood itself.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. The top must be flat for the rotation to stay smooth — a cupped panel binds on the base, which is why glued construction matters on a turning board.
Three bowls on a turning board is a common bar fitting: olives, nuts and one dip, turned to whoever is reaching. Nothing is lifted off the board all evening.
