Description
Half a metre of rotating surface. This is the banquet version of the lazy Susan — a board that holds an entire shared course and brings each part of it round to whoever wants it.
The base carries the weight and the turning; the board above is a plain flat circle of beech. Nothing on the surface fixes where things go, so the layout is open.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. At 50 centimetres the panel must be glued — a solid one would cup, and a cupped top no longer turns freely on its base.
A board this wide is loaded once and left. Because it turns, a table of eight is served from the middle without a single plate being handed across.
