Description
A rotating board of 30 centimetres — the board turns on its base, so the dish comes round to the guest instead of the plate being passed. A lazy Susan, in beech.
The turning mechanism sits under the board and is not visible from the table. The top surface is flat and plain, so a cheese selection or a set of small bowls can be arranged on it freely.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. The panel has to stay flat for the rotation to be smooth — a cupped top would rub against the base, which is why gluing matters here more than on a plain board.
Thirty centimetres is the size for a table of four. Everyone reaches everything with a turn of the wrist, which is the whole point of a rotating board.
