Description
A set of bowls cut as pieces of a jigsaw that fit together into a square 335 × 335 millimetres. Each piece is a separate dish with its own recess, so they can be used singly, in pairs, or all together as one large surface.
The pieces interlock edge to edge with no gap. On the table that means the serving can grow and shrink with the number of guests: two pieces for two people, all of them for a party.
Each piece is a beech panel glued up from several lengthwise staves, 30 millimetres deep. The outline is cut after gluing, so the joints of the jigsaw are precise. Beech is dense, does not take on smells and does not pick up colour from fruit.
Since the pieces separate, the set is also used as four individual dishes for four people, assembled only when it is brought to the table.
