Description
The Prezident board — a rectangular serving board with a handle, in the format restaurants use for a single course. Big enough for a steak with a side, small enough to put down in front of one guest.
The handle extends the board, so it is carried hot from the kitchen without the server’s hand crossing the food. The surface is flat, with no channel or divider.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, which is what keeps a board of this width flat under heat and washing. A solid piece this wide would warp.
Boards of this kind are bought by the dozen for a kitchen, because they are used in rotation — one goes out to the table while the next is being plated.
