Description
The Praktik board — a plain rectangular board with a handle, made for daily use rather than for show. The name says the intent: one board that covers cutting, chopping and serving without being specialised for any of them.
The handle is cut from the same panel, so there is no joint to come loose. It has an opening for hanging, which keeps the board out of a drawer and dry between uses.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. Beech is the standard for kitchen boards because it is hard enough to resist cutting and dense enough not to absorb juices.
This is the board a kitchen buys in twos or threes — one for vegetables, one for bread, one for meat. Keeping them apart is simpler than washing one board between tasks.
