Description
A small board in the shape of a pear — narrow at the top, widening towards the base, with a short stem for holding and hanging. Sized for one portion rather than a full course.
The narrow end leaves room for the hand, so the board is handed across the table without touching the food. The surface is flat and takes light cutting.
Beech, hard and dense, so a knife mark stays shallow. Wash by hand, wipe dry, and oil from time to time with a food-safe oil to keep the surface closed.
The pear is the companion piece to the apple board. Shops that sell them keep both, because buyers rarely take only one — the pair hangs together on the wall.
