Description
An oval platter 460 × 280 millimetres with a circular recess in the middle. The circle takes a bowl of sauce or whatever is shared, and around it a wide flat surface stays free for everything else.
The recess is shallow and rounded, so the bowl stands steady and does not slide when the platter is carried. The rest of the surface is flat and without dividers, leaving the arrangement free.
The bowl set in the middle should be no more than about ten centimetres across, or it covers the surface around it. Small wooden or flat-bottomed ceramic bowls suit it best.
Wash by hand; the wood is left unfinished and can be oiled from time to time.
