Description
The Gracija board, 400 × 280 millimetres, with a rim channel and a row of small recesses along one edge. The recesses take salt, a seasoning or small sides, so cutting and serving happen on the same board, with no extra dishes.
The working surface stays wide and free, and the recesses do not interfere with cutting because they are set right against the edge. The channel holds the juices.
The panel is beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, 19 millimetres thick. Gluing is the condition for a panel of this width to stay flat. Beech is dense and does not take on smells, so the same board serves meat and fruit.
The small recesses along the edge hold a pinch of salt or pepper, just enough for one dish. They are not a replacement for a seasoning pot but for what would otherwise be scattered across the board.
