Description
The Elegant board — a serving board with a shaped outline, made to go on the table rather than stay in the kitchen. The name refers to the profile: the edges are worked, not left square.
The surface is flat and plain, so it carries a cheese selection, cured meat or dessert without the shape competing with the food. Both faces are usable.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. Gluing is what lets a board this wide stay flat — a solid panel would cup and then rock on the table.
A serving board is kept apart from the cutting boards in most households. Used only for serving, it keeps a clean surface for years, which is the reason to have a separate one at all.
