Description
A board 300 × 200 millimetres and 10 millimetres thick, cut to the outline of a cow. A light board with a shape, for serving cheese, butter and dairy — or for hanging on a kitchen wall.
At 10 millimetres it is a serving board rather than a cutting board: light to carry, quick to wash, thin enough to look like a plate on the table.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. Thin panels warp more readily than thick ones, so gluing matters here — a solid piece 20 centimetres wide at this thickness would not stay flat.
Boards in animal shapes are bought for children’s places at the table and for dairy shops. The shape tells you what goes on it before anything is said.
