Description
A bread board 400 × 250 millimetres with crosswise grooves across the whole surface. The grooves catch the crumbs: the slices stay on top while whatever breaks off falls into the channels instead of scattering over the table.
The format is large enough for a loaf at full length and for slicing without moving the bread. The 19 millimetre thickness keeps the board steady under the knife.
The panel is beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves. The grooves are cut into the panel itself, even in depth, and are cleaned with a brush or a dry cloth. Beech is hard and dense, so the knife leaves no deep marks in the channels.
Clean the grooves with a dry brush along the channel; brushing across only moves the crumbs from one groove to the next.
