Description
A board 1,450 millimetres long and 370 wide — nearly a metre and a half, made to carry three pizzas side by side. This is a presentation board for a table, not a kitchen tool.
The length is the whole point: three pizzas arrive together and are set down the middle of the table, so everyone reaches all three. The surface is flat and unbroken from end to end.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, 19 millimetres thick. A board of this length cannot be anything but glued — a solid plank would twist along its length and then rock on the table.
Boards this long are carried by two people when loaded. Pizzerias that use them keep a clear run down the middle of each table, because once the board is down nothing else fits beside it.
