Description
The Beer board, 500 × 200 millimetres — a long narrow board for a beer tasting flight or for beer with snacks. Glasses stand in a row along it and are carried to the table together.
Half a metre long and only 20 wide, which is the shape that fits across a bar counter or down the middle of a small table without taking it over.
Beech, glued up from several lengthwise staves, 19 millimetres thick. Half a metre of solid wood at 20 centimetres wide would twist; glued staves keep the board straight so glasses stand level on it.
Craft breweries and pubs use boards like this for tasting sets — four or five small glasses carried at once, each with its label in front of it on the wood.
